Sorry to hear that and I wish them both a speedy recovery but wonder if it will end Nicki's career.

Sorry to hear that and I wish them both a speedy recovery but wonder if it will end Nicki's career. He's just signed a 2 year contract with his Polish club too.

Triple world champion Nicki Pedersen is set to be airlifted to Denmark for further surgery after confirming he broke his pelvis and hip on Sunday.
Grudziadz star Pedersen suffered the injuries in a crash with Leszno’s Piotr Pawlicki in heat three of the teams’ PGE Ekstraliga clash. The Pole reportedly suffered breaks to both shoulder blades.
Pedersen underwent surgery in Poland to put his right leg back into position and the leg is now in traction while he awaits a transfer by air to Denmark for his breaks to be plated.
The 45-year-old admits he suffered considerable blood loss and must wait for this to stabilise before doctors will clear him to travel.
And while one of the sport’s toughest stars is hopeful of bouncing back from another horrifying crash, he admits he has a tough recovery ahead.
Posting on Instagram, Pedersen wrote: “The right leg slipped out of position on the hip bowl, it was operated on last night and the leg is now stretched.
“My pelvis/hip is broken in two places and I must have a plate implanted to stabilise the fractures. I have chosen to be flown to Denmark where the Danish doctors are ready to operate on me.
“During the crash, I unfortunately had the chain tighten and drill 5cm into my leg. I have had a huge accumulation of blood and have lost a lot of blood during the night. We await new answers to blood tests tomorrow morning and as soon as the Polish doctors give the green light and have to fly, I will do it in an air ambulance hopefully tomorrow.
“I am in severe pain as they try and give me the best possible painkillers. I hope and think I'll get through this too, but the prospects are long this time around.”
Everyone at FIMSpeedway.com wishes Nicki and Piotr a speedy recovery.
