On this day, 23rd April, sometime back in the last Millennium - it's my birthday!. Not quite reached the half century mark but its getting close. Given the circumstance this year, I might celebrate with a little walk around the back garden, and then off to look through some more speedway nostalgia and memorabilia, possibly even wresting the Sky box controller off the kids and watch some Swedish Speedway from 2019 which is hopefully still saved on there somewhere.
Meanwhile, back to our amazing sport...
On this day, 23rd April, 1975 Aces beat Halifax 52-26 in the Frank Varey Northern Trophy at Hyde Road.
Aces scorers were; Sjosten 10, Tyrer 5, P Collins 12 (max), Wilkinson 9, Morton 10+2 (paid max), Pusey 4+1, Hodgson 2+1.
Enjoy your day folks.
Stay Home. Stay Safe.

Larry Ross was an Ace I admired back in the 80’s,for someone to go from Wimbledon’s tiny track to the wide open spaces of Hyde Road as his home track and still pile the points up was impressive for me.
